Job Summary
General accountant with a thorough working knowledge of subsidiary ledgers such as, but not limited to, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and job cost.  The ability to apply the principles of accounting to reconcile subsidiary ledgers and prepare financial reports and the necessary information needed for year-end accounting firm review.  Putting forth the effort and be willing to assist the entire accounting department to achieve the common department goals.

Essential Functions of the Job

General Accounting
  • Assist with month-end closing preparation, reporting and other requests.
  • Perform accounts payable preparation and processing with knowledge and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers.
  • Process cash receipts and daily preparation of bank deposits.
  • Record and reconcile payroll expenses, process commissions.
  • Proficiency of general ledger and assist with general ledger journal transactions.
  • Preparation of related party and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare job cost reconciliations and research of variances.
  • Assist with work paper preparation, audits, and other miscellaneous matters.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Willing to assist the entire department in whatever way possible to accomplish department goals.
  • Special projects as requested by supervisor (or Director of Accounting).
 
Authority and Supervisory Qualifications:
This position reports to the Controller of Daily Operations and serves at the discretion of the Director of Accounting or delegate. The position carries out responsibilities in line with the established policies and statutes in consultation with the Controller of Daily Operations.  Executes authority within the Delegation of Authority.  Responsible for processing, reporting, and providing support for accounting related items.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field requirement.  Minimum of 2 years’ experience with general accounting.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk or hear.  The employee is required to stand and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by his job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Compensation: $55,341.00 - $70,000.00 per year
